about us
Aviation is a way of life for a lot of us, just like coffee. Throughout my time as an aviator in the military, I’ve introduced many different flying squadrons to coffee roasted in small batches. I first began roasting coffee on a small stovetop popcorn maker and have since moved up to bigger roasters that allow me to dial in certain traits of a bean. This way I can really dial in a unique and profound flavor profile.
On an overseas deployment, I somehow managed to roast and vacuum seal 25 pounds of coffee beans and stuff it all in my helmet bag as we flew across the world. This allowed me to keep my entire squadron caffeinated for several months. Every day before showtime, I’d brew up a big pot of coffee, and without fail, the pot would always be empty within minutes.
That’s actually how I came up with the name “Squadron Coffee”. When I hear the word “squadron”, I think of my aviation community. I think of those rough 20-hour crew duty days overseas and flying my little Piper aircraft across the United States. Aviation is truly a passion of mine, and so is coffee. My goal for Squadron Coffee is to create a community of like-minded, passion-filled aviation enthusiasts who are looking to hold themselves to high standards and set themselves apart from their peers.
